Roman Verona

Intended for the general public, the book provides an introduction to historical and archaeological aspects of Verona in Roman times, from the birth of the settlement on the hill of San Pietro to the development of a city considered “great” in antiquity, up to the rule of the Ostrogoth king, Theodoric. Attention is also given to the recovery and study of antiquity that began in the late Middle Ages, and to the reuse of Roman stone blocks and sculptures in many parts of the city.
